Save it. The next caller hears that voice.

Why it does not sound like it is waiting

A caller can tell the moment a machine is thinking. The gap after they stop talking is the giveaway, and most of it is not the answer being written. It is the software still deciding whether the caller has finished.

answara listens with a transcriber that detects the end of a turn as it happens, instead of waiting out a fixed pause timer, and answers through a voice model picked for speed on a live call.

So the reply starts when the sentence ends. What the caller hears is a voice that takes its turn the way a person does, and what you read afterwards is the transcript of it.

Questions about the voice

Which voices can I choose from?
A short recommended set to start with, and the full library behind a tab. Each one lists whether it reads male, female or neutral, its accent, and a line describing how it sounds, so you can narrow it down before you play any of them.
Can I hear a voice before I choose it?
Yes. Every voice has a play button, and pressing it reads a short greeting aloud in that voice. It is the same greeting each time, so you are comparing the voices rather than the words.
Is this speech to speech, with no transcript?
No. Your caller is listened to, understood and answered as three steps, and the transcript that comes out of the first one is what you read afterwards in call history. What makes it feel immediate is the end of turn detection and a fast voice, not a missing step.
Can I change the voice later?
Any time. It is a setting on your receptionist, so you open the voice tab, pick a different one and save. The change goes out to the phone line straight away, and the call after that answers in the new voice.
